Audience
The refresher course is designed for existing SMSTS certificate holders and should be taken every five years to help stay up to date with the latest changes in the industry. Site Managers and Supervisors who do not hold the SMSTS certificate should sit the five-day course instead.
Objectives
The SMSTS two day refresher course is the perfect way to bring health and safety knowledge up to date. As well as giving a thorough understanding of legislation, the course also covers health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
Assessment of the Course
The course material is evaluated by means of a multi-choice assessment paper. Successful completion of the programme results in the award of a "Renewal CITB SMSTS Certificate".
Course Length
The course consists of 2 lecture days including examinations.
Attendance
Only those Delegates who have passed the five-day SMSTS course and provided evidence to the Training Provider before attending the course are eligible to attend the two-day refresher course.
Delegates are required to attend both sessions in order, since without full attendance and achievement in the examination the renewal of the Construction Site Manager’s Safety Certificate cannot be made.
