Audience

Line managers and those who have or are       about to acquire supervisory responsibilities.

 

Objectives

The main aim of the course is to is to provide an introduction to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities in relation to their work activities.


 

Course Structure 

The course consists of a 2 day program for those with supervisory responsibilities, which will include:

  • The Health & Safety at Work Act and the regulations relevant to the construction industry
  • Health and safety law
  • Developing a health and safety management system
  • Occupational health
  • Fire prevention and control
  • Risk assessment and method statements
  • Hazardous substances
  • CDM regulations
  • Work at height
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Manual handling
  •  Accidents and first aid

 

Assessment of the Course

The course is assessed by means of multiple-choice questions at the end of the course.
