At the end of the course each delegate should be able to:
- Explain the effects of environmental legislation on your business
- Analyse the impact of your business on the environment
Implement and monitor measures to improve your environmental performance - Examine the disposal of waste from your site and look for ways of saving or earning money
- Apply the principles of an environmental management system such as BSEN ISO 14001
Assessment of the Course
There are two assessments for this course, an environmental hazards identification project and a multi-choice assessment paper. An IOSH certificate is awarded to delegates who successfully complete the course.
Course Duration
This is a one day course and can also be delivered in company.

The recycling industry has nine times more fatal accidents than the national average and four times as many workers suffer injuries. The HSE have identified that some councils may be unclear about their legal duties and mistakenly believe that putting a service out to contract relieves them of all health and safety duties.
