How does the SMSTS training course help me?

If you are a Site Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, Foreman or just looking to advance into a role with site management responsibility, SMSTS is a standard entry level requirement for the majority of construction companies.

This means any individual involved in the management or planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering construction safety can only work on a site if they are SMSTS certificated.

How long does the SMSTS training course last?
 

The SMSTS training course is five days. It is a mandatory requirement of CITB, the governing body of SMSTS, that delegates must attend all five days, in sequential order.

Over the 5 days you have several practical assessments which are delivered through a mixture of exercises and reviewing real life case studies. On the last day you have a written exam (a multiple-choice assessment paper) which covers everything you have learnt during the previous four days.

Successful participants will be awarded a CITB SMSTS certificate - this is valid for 5 years. If for any reason you don't pass - we pay for your re-take and any training required.
