NEBOSH Environmental Course

"The first day was really hard to take in as it was like a minefield however after speaking to the tutor he made things seem so easy with his revision sessions and firing questions throughout the week."

My name is Daniel Troop and I am a Team Leader for an aerospace company in Derby called Gardner Aerospace. We are a Tier 1 supplier of aerospace manufactured detailed parts and assemblies for planes such as A350, A380, A320 Neo etc.

I started as a router operator with an agency and within 3 months was taken on permanently as a team leader. I manage a team of 19-25 people on a day to day basis. Recently I have been a part of the environmental team for a few months and the company decided to send me on my NEBOSH Environmental Course. Although I would prefer to do my NEBOSH in health and safety I was not going to turn it down.

I was slightly worried about coming into a completely new world and thought I may struggle. The first day was really hard to take in as it was like a minefield however after speaking to the tutor he made things seem so easy with his revision sessions and firing questions throughout the week.

The second day flowed easy and started to build my confidence, when I have studied with other companies for other courses I have found myself relying on personal revision. Although I gave a good solid 3 hours revision a night Dave really ensured you was always on track with his teaching techniques. Although I feel I may have passed the examination I am not totally confident.

I have already expressed my feelings towards doing the NEBOSH General Certificate 1, 2 and 3 and hope this will be sometime in the future.
