NEBOSH General Certificate Liverpool - Alex O'Rourke passes

NEBOSH General Certificate passed at Liverpool with RISK Health and Safety Training

Below is an interview with Alex O'Rourke, who has subsequently passed his NGC1 with RISK. Alex took the NEBOSH General Certificate course at Liverpool - taking the RISK Fast Track NEBOSH course format. This enables you to immerse yourself in the subject matter and take an exam while your knowledge on the subject matter is fresh and undiluted.

Which is why the NEBOSH General Certificate pass rate is higher than the national average with RISK Health and Safety Training

RISK have a higher than national average pass rate for Nebosh General Certificate because they teach the material in a different way to everyone else. Unique 'Fast Track NEBOSH course' modular learning and exams

"My name is Alex O'Rourke and I work for a small company in Derby called Westminster Building company. I worked there as a project manager to start off with and now I’m moving on to the Health and Safety role of Health and Safety manager within my company.

I understand that RISK have a higher than standard pass rate which is a big motivation for going with RISK.

I’m moving on to the role of Health and Safety manager, which is why I need NEBOSH general Certificate

The reason I need NEBOSH is because I am taking on a new role in my Company and I am going to be their health and safety manager so I need some sort of nationally recognised qualifications to be able to do my job properly and to build my knowledge of regulations.

The RISK Guaranteed Pass Scheme takes some pressure off

The way I understand the guaranteed pass scheme is , if you fail an exam, you can come back and resit the learning material for a small fee to resit the exam again. Which I think is good, it takes a bit of pressure off you, knowing that you are not going to get stung with the full fees again if you fail so I think it stiumulates a better learning environment personally.

NEBOSH Fast Track by RISK suits my style of learning

So with the conventional method of NEBOSH you have a 12/13 week period of learning I think its one day a week and then you have two exams. For me, compared to the method I am using now where you have one exam on one day and then a week later after studying, another exam on a second day that’s much better because I can put more effort into each exam with adequate time to study and revise. Based on my track record with exams, whenever I have had two exams on the same day, one normally suffers for the other so I think its a really good shout to do a block of teaching, get the exam out of the way so you can completely clear your head and tackle the next module.

Here's how NEBOSH Fast Track works

Our of hours support for NEBOSH

I think it’s really good that you can call one of your tutors if you are up late at night and struggling with your homework, they supply a book, they also supply some slides which I think are a good way of condensing the knowledge of the book so its actually digestable in terms of learning so I would definitely recommend using the slides and obviously you have got the homeworks which are based on pass paper questions, again it puts you in a good situation to tackle the exam with some real knowledge and experience as well as the pass papers at the back of the folder which I will be tackling this weekend.

NEBOSH revision and support notes help a lot!

Comparing RISK to other trainers that I have had in the past, I would say they are pretty good because they provide a lot of their content online for you to look at which is good, because if you are a terrible note taker, like me, then its nice to be able to refer back to the slides. There is a lot of pre-learning that you can go through as well , revision aids that can help you online. I think its also very interactive as in a lot of classes that I have been in before, it is literally just going through the slides whereas, with RISK you go through the slides but you have got some experienced lecturers, tutors, whatever you want to call them, so they will really get you involved and puts what is on the slides into practice for you.

I would definitely recommend RISK for NEBOSH courses

I have had about 4 different tutors now, all from a different background, all have different perspectives that can tie into the NEBOSH training course itself so I would say, yes, on the whole RISK are a good provider. If there was someone else in my company who wanted to do the NEBOSH or SMSTS or SSSTS. I would definitely recommend RISK - because of the guarantees they provide and they go the extra mile for you.
