My name is Lynne Billau and I work for Keepmoat a large construction company. I chose RISK for the NEBOSH training because I came here to do the SMSTS course and I was very impressed with the way it was organised and it was set up, how informed the tutor was, how good he was at getting all the information across to the students how he responded to their needs and how he picked up the ones that were struggling, encouraged the ones that weren’t, he was very thorough and that’s what I wanted when I did my NEBOSH as I that was going to be much harder. Coming on the NEBOSH the thing I was most apprehensive about was probably that I thought everyone else would know everything and I would have no idea in comparison, but when you get here actually you find out that you know loads more than you think you know beforehand, I think the SMSTS was a good foundations for it.
I was aware of the employers obligation to have competent health and safety advice, but I didn’t thoroughly understand where that came from, how it in to all of the different regulations and how they all tied together really, I just knew it was something that had to be there and now on the NEBOSH I am learning more about that.
