NEBOSH Environmental – Taught remotely in a virtual classroom

The virtual Environmental Management course takes a practical, risk management approach based on best practice and international industry standards. The qualification is designed for those who are responsible for managing environmental issues as part of their work, as well as those looking to develop a career within the environment and sustainability. It is suitable for managers, supervisors and employees working in all industry sectors who are looking to implement effective environmental management systems into their organisation.
Unit EC1: The Management and Control of Environmental Hazards
EC1 is 4 days of trainer led learning in a virtual classroom environment, covering the following key elements:
- Environmental Management Systems and Impact Assessments
- Sources and use of Energy and Energy Efficiency
- Controls of Pollution
- Planning for and dealing with Environmental Emergencies
Assessment: There is a two‐hour written examination consisting of 1 ‘long answer’ question worth 20 marks and 10 ‘short answer’ questions, each worth 8 marks, for Unit EC1.
Unit EC2: Environmental Practical Application
The practical application is for delegates to demonstrate their ability to apply the knowledge and understanding gained from the study of elements of Unit EC1 in a practical environment. Delegates are required to carry out an environmental review of a workplace and complete a report to management regarding the review with recommendations.
