CITB site safety awareness course is a one-day practical induction designed to help the workforce understand the potential hazards they face at work on site.

CITB site safety awareness course identifies individual responsibilities from looking after themselves and others, and includes the employers duties and what should be done if they think anyone’s health and safety is at risk.

  • It ensures individuals working on site contribute to the safety of the workplace
  • It explains why they are carrying out their identified duties in the specified way

At the end of the CITB Site Safety Awareness Course delegates will:
 

  • Have an understanding of health and safety law
  • Identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site
  • Understand their role in the prevention of accidents
  • Understand the need for risk assessments and method statements
  • Appreciate the need to perform safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure
  • Understand the importance of reporting unsafe acts to prevent an accident

CITB Site Safety Awareness Course Assessment

CITB site safety awareness course assessment will be based upon a demonstration of understanding throughout the training, followed by multiple-choice questions at the end of the course.

The maximum number of delegates per CITB site safety awareness course is twenty.

CITB Site Safety Awareness Course Progression

The CITB Site Safety Awareness Course is an ideal introduction to on site health and safety duties and responsibilities. A natural follow-on to this course would be the two day SSSTS courses.
If you are a site manager, agent or surveyor (i.e. holding a position of managerial control) you should attend the five-day SMSTS courses.
