Graeme Ward took and passed the NEBOSH General Certificate course in London - after taking the RISK Fast Track NEBOSH course format.

I work for Jacobs UK as a Building Surveyor - I've attended the NEBOSH Course in London as I need to be a competent person in terms of health and safety.

"I am Graeme Ward I work for Jacobs UK as a Building Surveyor. I have been sent on the NEBOSH course because my company feels that one of the clients we deal with need a Health and Safety official to liaise with them in terms of, its complicated but it basically they needs somebody to liaise with the client that we have got who would understand as a competent person in terms of health and safety.

The reason I would recommend RISK is the way they try to teach the course, they don’t do it in a way that they try to funnel everything down into that single part of the test.

Here's how NEBOSH Fast Track works

Which is why the NEBOSH General Certificate pass rate is higher than the national average with RISK Health and Safety Training

RISK have a higher than national average pass rate for Nebosh General Certificate because they teach the material in a different way to everyone else. Unique 'Fast Track NEBOSH course' modular learning and exams

The Guaranteed Pass scheme gives reassurance

The Guaranteed Pass thing is something that if you put everything into it and then you fail, it’s there to help you to back you up at the end of the day then giving out the phone number is always helpful, just because I haven’t used it doesn’t mean that someone else might not start to get nervous or something like that. The classroom settings, the information they had out the books and everything like that, I can’t really compare it with how other companies do by having the two together, it I can only imagine processing all of that information in the same way it makes me feel glad I actually went this way because I don’t know if I could pass it that way but this way I am pretty confident that I will if because I have done everything they have laid out.

I knew that NEBOSH was fairly difficult but didn’t realise it was this difficult

I wasn’t aware that RISK had a higher than average pass until I came in on Monday and saw the banner at the back am assuming that is one of the reasons why my company chose them ahead of everybody else. I knew that NEBOSH was fairly difficult but didn’t realise it was this difficult or at least this lower than average pass rate the difference in the numbers is pretty substantial to be honest, so it makes me feel a lot better. If he just came in and said it’s a 32% pass rate and didn’t say anything else, that 77% makes me feel alright I have a better than average chance on this one than I would have on someone else’s.

Doing NEBOSH in London is really convenient

The reason I am in London is because I live in London and my office is based in London. I was aware of the Guaranteed Pass Scheme and it slightly influenced me it’s kind of like a safety net you’ve got but you don’t really want to use it, it might save the company a bit of money in the long run, not that they are short of cash but it’s a nice thing to have to fall back on you never know what the exam is going to be like on the day you take it, I suppose. We were told that he would give us his phone number in case we wanted to use it out of hours, I haven’t used it yet but I can see that I might use it at the weekend if I start to panic or something like that on Sunday night. It’s again it is a bit like the Guaranteed Pass Scheme it’s that you can fall back on especially with the 3 day weekend because of the Bank Holiday it might be like pretty much half the time that we are going to be on this course you are not going to be seeing people or sitting down or learning anything it’s just on your own, so if you have got like that thing like that safety net you can fall back on and talk to them and have somebody there it might be good. If you ask a question he will not give you the answer he will help you, he will guide you towards it which is kind of what you need you don’t want to phone someone up and go oh the answer is this you want them to go have you thought about this or have you thought about that which I’m pretty sure that is what they will do.

NEBOSH General Certificate is a lot of information to take in at one time

I have enjoyed the way they presented it, it’s a lot of information to take in at one time, we have spoken about the different methods people use to do it as I’m doing NCC1 as well in a couple of weeks as well. I can’t imagine doing this, then that and having both exams after. It is far too much information even after five days I am starting to forget things and I wont be able to remember it until I start revising. And having two separate things come together and overlap it would just be confusing and you start to misremember things and things like that. I like the classroom as well, we talked about E-learning this morning but you get so much more like feedback and because you are sat next to someone in the same position as you and you can talk to each other about it and you can bounce ideas off them how are you remembering this or how are you remember that, how did you get on with this it I so much better than being sat at a computer, you also got the peer pressure to do your homework and stuff like that which is good as it makes you do it.
