Mike Adams, Managing Director of RISK Health & Safety, one of the UK’s leading health and safety training providers has been awarded a certificate in recognition of his 20 years association with the institute.

Mike is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. This is recognised as the standard that reflects professionalism in the Health & Safety World. The presentation of 20 years professional membership of the Chartered Institution of Personnel & Development is an additional qualification which involves, Employment Law, Managing People and Training & Development. The two qualifications work hand in hand to enable the provision of Health & Safety Advice and Individual Development through the delivery of training.

CIPD, a Pedigree in Industrial Welfare
The history of the CIPD begins with its forerunner ‘The Welfare Workers' Association (WWA), which was formed at an employers' conference in York on 6 June 1913. The WWA was founded as "...an association of employers interested in industrial betterment and of welfare workers engaged by them."
With a further change of name in 1946 to the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), Chartered status was achieved in 2000 and the IPD was incorporated under Royal Charter from 1 July of that year to become known as the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and reported it had a membership of 120,000 practitioners. Today CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), is a globally recognised organisation with over 135,000 members across 120 countries.
