RISK update on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

What action is RISK taking to protect people during the COVID-19 pandemic?

As a business we are committed to ensuring those we train our colleagues and venue staff remain as safe as possible. As all businesses are, RISK are closely monitoring the Prime Minister's daily announcements and will respond accordingly with the directions provided.

Please Note: ALL face to face training has been suspended until directed by the Government that it's safe to resume.

If You Have Booked Through a Broker
If you haven't booked direct with RISK it's unlikely we have you on our system so we cannot keep you informed. If you would like to receive updates from RISK please email us using this link and follow the instructions provided.

If You Have Booked Direct with RISK

All delegates places are being rescheduled FREE of charge onto the next available course; which at this present time the Government is advising will be May onwards. If the period is extended you will automatically be rolled forward again on to the next available course. You will of course be kept informed and if the rescheduled course selected isn't possible or convenient - then we will reschedule accordingly.

The training we provide is often a licence to work or a business operational requirement - so what happens if it expires?

A substantial number of courses and refresher courses provided by RISK enable individuals and businesses alike to carry on operating as it enables them to comply with the law.

However, as businesses face these uncertain times we have received the following updates:

All SMSTS/SSSTS courses are temporarily postponed

Any delegate whose SMSTS/SSSTS achievement has expired since 15 March 2020 and who hasn’t been able to renew in time due to COVID-19, will be allowed to take the refresher rather than the full course - this will remain in place whilst the current Coronavirus situation continues and will be reviewed on a regular basis.

All NEBOSH Courses are temporarily postponed

RISK is working on 'learning programmes' which you can undertake remotely in preparation for your rescheduled training course. If you have booked directly with RISK then you will be contacted by one of the support team to advise on how and where to access this information, plus the tutor access to support your remote learning.

High Security Venues

London - UJ Club which is a 250 bedroom hotel for private members* used for civil servants and MOD, security is high at all times. Due to the current situation the venue is currently being under utilised (there are approx 40 – 50 people including staff in the building at any one time). *Available for RISK delegates to book and minimise public transport.

Nottingham - Tangent Business Hub – State-of-the-art council run business centre with daily security. RISK have their own training room, all centre staff are being encouraged to work from home wherever possible to eliminate the possibility of the virus spreading. As a result the delegates are likely to be the only people in the building in addition to the mandatory security staff, course trainers, etc.

Increase Safety Measures post this current Crisis

RISK will continue to do what we can to provide you with a safe and hygienic place to train. Given the on-going uncertainty, we may need to make further changes but here's what's been implemented since last week, and will be an ongoing measure when training resumes:

  • Courses are delivered in Venues with access Security and are NOT open to the general public
  • Delegates are screened on entry to ensure there are no obvious health concerns
  • Sanitising gel is available throughout the venues and enhanced cleaning regimes are in place
  • Washrooms are available on all floors so delegates can maintain personal hygiene
  • Oversized rooms are used for training to ensure delegates maintain the recommended personal space
