Since the introduction of the SSSTS remote delivery 'Emergency Provision' in March, CITB have received a lot of positive feedback from industry as it has allowed delegates the opportunity to access the training required in the most appropriate delivery format.

SSSTS Remote delivery review

The CITB are currently conducting a review of the remote delivery provision to ensure the scheme rules are appropriate when we move from an emergency provision to a permanent delivery method. As part of this review the CITB have received feedback from industry and SSSTS training providers to help support how remote delivery should be shaped moving into the future. This review continues and the CITB still anticipate the full launch of remote delivery will happen early in 2021. However, the CITB have decided to implement two amendments to the current emergency provision rules, which can be utilised with immediate effect:

The maximum number of delegates per course has increased from 10 to 12
During examinations, the maximum number of delegates a tutor may invigilate has increased from 5 to

If you have an SSSTS certificate that expired after the 15th March 2020 and haven't been able to renew it since, you now have until the 31st January 2021 to sit a SSSTS Refresher course instead of having to sit the full course. So we would advise that all delegates take this opportunity to attend the SSSTS Refresher course to avoid the need to attend the full course again.
