Health and Safety in the Construction Industry

According to the HSE Report: Workplace fatal injuries in Great Britain, 2021 construction fatalities remain in the unenviable top slot, with 39 deaths for the last recorded 12 month period. According to the Health and Safety Executive, the construction industry also loses around 2 million working days each year due to workplace injury and work-related illness. This underlines the continuing need for good quality Health and Safety training, not simply gaining a qualification. Making construction sites healthier and safer means those with the qualifications must influence their on-site colleagues to work more safely. Their training must give them the confidence and technical know-how to challenge unsafe behaviours and offer practical solutions.

What's the best Health and Safety qualification for the Construction Industry

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is supported by the construction industry Sector Skills Council (SSC) Construction Skills, and is highly regarded in the construction industry. Whilst the CITB supports the skills needs of the British construction sector with its Site Safety Plus (SSP) courses. These include the SMSTS and SSSTS qualification, which are the two major health and safety courses for the construction industry. RISK are highly accredited providers of both NEBOSH and CITB training and are committed to delivering the highest quality training needed to deliver the cultural shift, behaviours and safety performance measures needed on construction sites.
