Key Tips for NEBOSH General Certificate London Practicals

With every NEBOSH General Certificate London course you’ll be asked to complete a practical exam. Our expert tutors recommend the following key points to help you pass the last exam and gain your much desired NEBOSH General Certificate accreditation.

The Practical Exam; What’s Involved?

The NEBOSH General Certificate practical exam is carried out following completion of all other modules and is known as the NGC3 Report.

This exam is expected 14 days from the second module exam date and demonstrates that you’ve been able to practically and professionally apply your learning to a real life work situation and fully understand the workings of risk reduction.

The exam first requires you to carry out an inspection without supervision, note the findings on observation sheets provided by NEBOSH and then write a report to management regarding these findings. Easy when you apply your learning from modules 1 and 2.

Meeting Criteria for your NEBOSH General Certification London Course Practical Exam

The London course tutor also pointed out to students that it’s important to read the requirements from NEBOSH carefully, this includes using appropriate headers for the report:

  • Introduction
  • Executive Summary
  • Main Findings of the Inspection
  • Conclusions
  • Recommendations

Also remember that it helps to include long term solutions and recommendations to problems you’ve identified on your observation sheets; i.e. how to prevent a future reoccurrence.

Another useful tip is to use the main findings in your Management Report to focus on 5 or 6 more pertinent hazards; other hazards identified in the observation sheets could be grouped together in categories.

And always, always get your reports provided to us and your Management team in the deadlines provided – and then before you know it you’ve gained a valuable recognised qualification and the knowledge that could one day save a life!
