NEBOSH Certificate exams to stay online

The NEBOSH open book examination introduced for a number of certificate level qualifications as a result of the pandemic is here to stay.

Digital assessments for NEBOSH certificate qualifications

NEBOSH OBE (Open Book Exam) was introduced in June 2020, to help the many people who had been unable to complete and achieve the qualification they have worked so hard for, as a result of the global pandemic. Unlike an invigilated paper-based examination, the OBE allowed learners to sit their NEBOSH assessment in their own home or another safe and suitable location.

NEBOSH Certificate open book exams are focused on scenarios

In the Open Book Exam, delegates receive a scenario and a set of ten questions. The scenario will be a hypothetical workplace situation including some background information about the role you (the delegate) will play. You need to carefully consider the details of the role and relate to the scenario in your answers. Although based upon UK law, the answers are assessed on the best practice, a change from the previous Rote learning of UK law.

Delivering NEBOSH courses to a growing overseas audience

The new online NEBOSH OBE certificate courses are delivered in real-time by an expert trainer using Zoom. Since the switch of NEBOSH courses to open book exam, and flexibility to be taught in a virtual classroom, there's been a noticeable increase in overseas delegates booking with RISK. This, combined with the switch of NEBOSH courses focused upon best practice rather than based on British Law, makes them more relevant to those overseas.

Who are NEBOSH Certificate online courses for?

NEBOSH's Certificate-level qualifications provide an excellent foundation in health and safety for managers, supervisors and people starting out on a career in health and safety. Over 50,000 people take a NEBOSH qualification every year. This is because their health, safety and environmental qualifications are globally recognised and taken by people working in all types of industries, as well as national and local government organisations.
